There are plenty of studies, anecdotes and reports into just how unaffordable Vancouver’s real estate market has gotten recently.
But the most obvious example of Vancouver’s spiraling real estate prices might just come from a monthly report that has existed for 39 years.

B.C.'s government will collect new information on citizenship of home buyers as well as modestly raise property transfer taxes on luxury homes and in turn exempt taxes on new homes that cost under $750,000 in proposed measures to address housing affordability in the 2016 budget.

Hot real estate market isn’t showing signs of slowing

Vancouver’s hot real estate market isn’t showing signs of slowing. January saw year-over-year growth of more than 20 per cent for the Metro region, according to the Canadian Real Estate Association.
That brings the average price of a home in Metro Vancouver to $775,300.
